JULY 30, 2024 | Nebraska Land Trust

Nebraska Land Trust (NLT) is proud to partner with Terry and Karen Waite to conserve their grassland in Frontier County. The Waite family first completed an agricultural conservation easement with NLT in 2014 and we’re pleased to have now closed their second a decade later.

The property serves as an important piece of agricultural land for grazing cattle and is home to many species of wildlife. Among other wildlife known to inhabit the area, NLT staff witnessed during one spring day, ring-necked pheasant, prairie dog, American robin, western meadowlark, mule deer, coyote, pocket gopher, American badger, and wild turkey on the property.

NLT has now partnered with 48 families in 25 counties to conserve nearly 48,000 acres across Nebraska. A special thank you to Terry and Karen for ensuring this working landscape will continue providing lasting benefits for the generations to come.

Stay tuned as we continue working to conserve Nebraska’s agricultural, historical and natural resources through education, partnering and permanent conservation.
